Fifa 2011 Black Screen problem

After purchasing the game today, I installed it. After starting the game, it notifies me in game that I need to install the update. I then proceeded to download the patch and install it. After installing the patch and starting the game via the .exe , the game runs but I only get a black screen and never get into the game. Does the patch have to setup on the first time running the game or what. I left it for ten minutes and still nothing. My specs on my pc is more than enough. I just installed Net framework 4 . Also updated my video card driver to the latest. This is getting very frustrating and I ferel like returning the game... :)
