fifa 11 update problem! URGENT

Ok everytime I try to play online, it says I need a new squad update, usually it just downloads and everything is dandy, now it says 'there was a problem downloading the latest update, please try again later' well that 'later' has been 3 weeks later and it still says the same thing, i also when through the manual way of going to update squads myself via my fifa 11 and edit teams, and ive also tried the squad updating thing through career mode and that doesn't work either! all i want to do is play online and this is stopping me which is really frustrating, any help is really appreciated i'm pulling my hair out here.|||Hello joper88,
It is possible that you have a corrupt file on your system. One thing you could try to help this issue would be to clear your system cache. I have included the following FAQs that contain instructions on clearing out your cache/Game Data.

Both of these FAQs mention deleting Saved data/Saved games, but I would only recommend this as a last resort as once the information has been deleted from the console, it is not possible to retrieve. There are times the saved game data may become corrupt, but I would like you to attempt all the other steps before this final step.

|||Thanks for the reply, I've tried all the steps except number 5, and that was the last resort, as you said, and I'm just wondering that if I did that, would I be correct in assuming that I would lose all data I.E my virtual pro (whom I've worked very hard on mind you) and my custom formations etc..?|||That is a correct assumption. As I mentioned, deleting Saved Data is a last resort as it is a very final step. If you delete your Virtual Pro, custom lineups, etc, you will, unfortunately, have to recreate them.
